It is clear that Brighton Secondary College has neglected to consider its Year 12 students whilst they sat their VCE exams under unsatisfactory conditions whilst building works that could have been halted - weren't. Year 12 students were not considered in the process of demolishing and building of a new Junior School that they will not get to experience themselves. Vibrating floors, loud booms, and crashing noises have characterized Year 12's exam experiences, this has been a major distraction for many students and yet the school has not supported its students by applying for special consideration for this year level. The school has an obligation to its students to provide adequate rooming and exam conditions to ensure they can endeavor to achieve their best results in their exams. This has been counterproductive as Brighton Secondary College did not act when its students brought attention to the impact the noise was having on their exams, ultimately affecting their concentration levels and potentially their overall VCE result.
