As we all know the entire stretch of Patankar Park Road has slowly and steadily turned into a bastion for Illegal Hawkers. The already narrow road is occupied by Hawkers occupying footpaths and 1 Road Lane, Sometimes even 2 road lanes thus causing inconvenience to pedestrians walking on the footpath forcing them to walk on the roads hence endangering them. This combined chaos of on road pedestrians and hawkers leads to slowed traffic movement of vehicles. Leading to air pollution and noise pollution caused by incessant honking by cars stuck in the traffic jams. It has also come to light that hawkers pay society authorities and bribe civic authorities to Stay on road and cause nuisance to everyone. The once clean road now has become an unofficial market of sorts with hawker thrown garbage strewn across the street. VVMC ward office is just 5 minutes away from this street and this is the state of affairs. Really shameful. The hawkers fight with legal shopkeepers and business owners who counter them for blocking entry to their businesses. Even the Nagarsevak of this ward has taken no action against them despite full knowledge of the situation. Let's implore the corporation to take swift action !!!
