Every day during C lunch, juniors and seniors with 4th or 8th period off are allowed to leave campus. The only problem is that it can take up to 20 minutes to get out of the parking lot. The reason they camp out in their golf carts at the parking lot exits is so that students who have a class during 4th or 8th period can’t leave campus during lunch. I think that this method is very inefficient at moving students (who are allowed to leave) out of the parking lot, and we should not have to suffer because some students want to leave school when they are not supposed to. No student with an off period should have to wait 20 minutes sitting in the parking lot, wasting their gas, especially when there is no traffic outside of the parking lot. Not only does this waste students’ time, but it also wastes the time of the administrators who have to check each car as it leaves. Vandegrift High School, please stop stationing assistant principals at the parking lot exits. All it does is create a traffic jam and waste time.
