Mayor and Council needs to get its sh*t together on finances. Taxpayers can’t be expected keep funding a broken organization that wastes money.

It is outrageous that the city is facing insolvency! Irresponsible lack of control and leadership. As usual with the City of Vancouer the staff is running the show and city council is in way over its head , impotent and being played by the bureaucrats.

Unless spending is brought under control this city will become insolvent.

Our West Point Grey neighbourhood is awash with empty storefronts left vacant by businesses taxed out of existence. This was before the pandemic crisis. Further tax increases are forcing residents out of their homes. We need common sense and prudent management at city hall!

Previous and current councils have shown no respect for Vancouver taxpayers by increasing spending at rates far in excess of inflation and population growth. We are in unprecedented times that requires drastic action; the financial effects of Covid-19 will resound for many years.

I’m signing because I care about affordable housing for home owners, home owners to be and renters.

Under the current circumstances it is intolerable for the city's budget to continue to grow faster than the economy, the rate of inflation or the city's population. The private sector must find ways to live within its means and it is time for the city to do the same. Start cutting back to deliver the necessities and little else until the economy recovers.
