Why this petition matters

It's been decades since any of these games have been released, the last one being released in 2007. Due to the recent release of the remake of Half-Life, Black Mesa, I feel that we should have these games ported to modern consoles. I have been a long time fan of the franchise, and Valve as a whole. The GoldSrc and Source engines aren't very demanding, and can easily run on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and even Nintendo Switch. The Half-Life series is beloved by many, and has sold over 18 million copies, and that's only the base games, not even counting the expansions, which bring that total to a whopping 28.1 million, and these numbers only represent the physical copies, we aren't even counting the sales numbers from Steam! This award-winning franchise has a special place in video gaming's history, and we should allow the newer generations as well as the seasoned players to experience/relive Dr. Gordon Freeman's adventures on the Black Mesa compound, and City 17. The revenue would definitely outweigh the effort put into the ports, and people have wanted this for a long time. The payout would be beneficial to Valve as a whole. Please, Gabe, if you're reading this, do us all a favor, and just port the games. We will thank you for this gesture.
