Bailey Glode is a 14-year-old who plays in adult leagues and tournaments twice a week. Along with making straight A grades, playing the saxophone, and riding her dirt bike which she bought with money earned working as a busser at a restaurant; she practices playing pool for hours daily. Over a decade ago the Wyoming state pool tournament stopped allowing anyone under 21 from playing in the adult division. Bailey won the juniors division last year easily. She plays on my husband’s team where she regularly beats class C adult players.

Bailey wants to play against people who actually challenge her. She would rather lose all her matches in the adult division than easily win against minors in the juniors division. She has played enough games on sanctioned tables to meet requirements to play in the adult division. 

The Wyoming State 8-ball pool tournament is held at an all ages venue. Any sport that hinders young players from playing up to their skill level is destined to die out. That’s why I am asking the VNEA to step up and allow Bailey to play. As a woman; I am proud to say that this 14-year-old is my hero.
