Valley County Refuse Board District #1: Refuse Board acceptance of radioactive material from Bakken Oil Fields.

This petition made change with 59 supporters!

Valley County Refuse Board District #1 has made an agreement with the DYAD Environmental LLC to move 10,000 tons of radioactive material into the Valley County Landfill from the Bakken Oil Fields in North Dakota. The landfill in question resides approximately 3 miles or less to homes, business and schools in the city of Glasgow, Montana. This agreement was made without notification to residents of Valley County. The information was kept within the circle of the Valley County Board for three months until is was leaked to the Great Falls Tribune by an unknown source. The process to store the radioactive material is called TENORM. It is an untested, untried material for which there are no outside DYAD tests that show the TENORM material can store radioactive material safely without any radioactive leaks for decades or the 500 hundred years promised by the DYAD Environmental LLC. There are additional concerns such as the age of DYAD Environmental LLC and the President of DYAD Environmental Corp's illegal background.
