hi all, chanced upon this hotel name that's similar to the one in Hokkaido called The Vale Niseko, one of the hotel names under the Nisade brand owned by a certain jonathan martin. - similar frustration as longtime customer.. Just wanted to share, beware IF anyone you know has decided on Hokkaido for a winter holiday

I’m a victim of covid-19 where All flights were cancelled..along with several others even from many years ago (including the 2011 tsunami where its CEO told the victim it’s still his choice to get on another plane that’s still flying. If you didn’t get travel insurance, too bad - It sure felt like my case was mild compared to this victim which was what got many people incensed. Also, The Vale’s values do not resonate with the rising trend of the true ethos of social luxury. No apologies for insisting I believe in the sensationalised news when it should be calming travellers concerns with some sort of contingency plan....... It only sent an email detailing How you will not be refunded when hokkaido was issued a state of emergency - suddenly updated their website to say they have Proactively come up with measures to ensure safety. Claims other hotels are mostly staffed by teen backpackers too as it’s difficult hiring people etc. We heard from friends booked with luxury hotel AYA niseko and Clubmed, were offered FULL refund / credits till next year.

The Vale does not offer refunds at all which costs $1,500 a night on average and their “flexibility” options kept changing according to the coronavirus updates... does not extend to the 2020/2021 winter season. The general manager said it was not a conglomerate business hence policies remain enforced. Bookings can be delayed till end of summer season where 20% is absorbed as cancellation fee and 80% as credits. Terms and conditions states summer season 1 May – 22 Nov however we were told till 31 October... so that meant DRIED GRASS.. at best, slight chance of First snow. There were many bad reviews on facebook as well but they have since turned OFF reviews tab.
It would be great for people to know IF they would be willing to risk losing $10,000 a week with options not in their favor, really. And all emails ghosted after that.

I feel that Alpine is very slow to open and some days doesn’t. Stated reaso Avalanche risk. Having skied there since 1965 I have never seen this except in very rare conditions. Very rare and normally blasting gets some runs open almost immediately. Just my observations. Thank you

I'm signing because I read an article where the Vail rep said nothing has changed operationally, and that's hilarious because grooming alone has been measurably worse since Vail took over. How could that not be a change in the way the mountain operates?
