Every year more children in the UK die from Chicken Pox than Meningitis. In many other countries children are not permitted to attend school unless they are vaccinated against Chicken Pox. Currently the NHS do not offer a vaccine for children against chicken pox, if you require your child to be vaccinated you may pay privately for this. This must change, more awareness is needed about how serious this childhood disease can be. Most parents aren’t even aware that there is in fact a vaccine for chicken pox, parents should be informed of this vital information to enable them to make an informed choice.
