Only When It’s Safe means...
Criteria 1. 24 Days of Near-Zero COVID-19 Community Spread
Detailed, adequate science-based testing and contact tracing programs for all students, families, and school staff - paid for and supervised by local public health departments. A downward trajectory and near-zero incidents of documented cases, hospitalizations, and positivity rates for at least 24 days in our communities before returning to in-person learning.
Criteria 2. Protective Measures
Safety standards and precautions met and maintained. PPE like masks and face shields, adequate supplies for cleaning and handwashing, increased staff for health screenings and physical distancing measures, and proper classroom ventilation to be provided by the school divisions.
We Are Committed to…
Fighting for the resources we need for effective distance learning and for support of children and families in our communities. Supports needed include paid sick and family leave, an extension of the $600 unemployment benefits bump, rent forgiveness and mortgage forbearance, universal healthcare, and government-funded financial support for those who do not qualify for unemployment benefits.
