Mandate the wearing of masks in public to help SLOW DOWN the infection rate of COVID19. Encourage DIY masks for public use so as not to take away medical masks for healthcare providers. There is scientific evidence that ANY mask SLOWS down the transmission and that is what we need, SLOW it down so as not to overwhelm the health system. Asymptomatic people are spreading the virus and this is the reason why masks are all the more important. Hospitals, groceries, public transportation, pharmacies, etc...should all require masks. NO MASK, NO ENTRY. Everybody should act like they don’t want to transmit this deadly virus - practice social distancing, practice proper hygiene, and for God’s sake WEAR A MASK! It could even cut down in the spread of regular influenza which is also in season. SLOW THE SPREAD. Stop the messaging that masks don’t work. If you are not a medical provider, MAKE YOUR OWN MASK, any mask will work for public use. Any or some protection for your nose and mouth is better than no protection. SLOW THE SPREAD and wear a mask.
