Today, February 4, 2021, the spring commencement ceremony got cancelled.

Obviously, we are still living in times of Covid but a lot of universities were able to hold commencement ceremonies last year. 
MSOE for a local example had a whole weekend of ceremonies to sign up for to act according to CDC guidelines. In a much smaller venue than the UWM Panther arena.

Texas Tech university held their in person ceremony on December 11,2020 and had the student choose if they want to participate virtually or in person. 
Kean university held their ceremony in July 2020 throughout a whole weekend.
UWM officials, there are options out there! Cancelling is just the easy and unfair way out.

If you are a student, or know a student from UWM who should graduate this spring, vote to make it happen!
