FEMALE FAITH-BASED COUNSELLOR ON CAMPUS

The counselling services that UTSC provides through the health and wellness centre are amazing and greatly appreciated. Some students however may feel uncomfortable speaking to non-faith-based counsellors, and may require access to one.
We currently do have an amazing male faith-based counsellor here on campus through The Muslim Chaplaincy, however some female students may wish to have a female faith-based counsellor for individual sessions.
To make counselling accessible and equitable for all diverse groups on campus, the office of equity and diversity here at UTSC, as well as the Dean of Student Affairs have been contacted, and they suggest that those who agree to this motion should also voice their concerns!
Here is what you can do:
1. Email or speak to:
Amorell Saunders N'Daw
Senior Advisor on Equity and Diversity
Office of the Principal & Vice President
UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO SCARBOROUGH
Bladen Wing, Room BV536

2. SIGN THIS PETITION! This petition will be forwarded to the Dean of Student Affairs, as well as the Senior Advisor on Equity and Diversity. This petition can then be brought up to the equity team meetings and processed further by the department of student affairs. This will also be used in the personal meeting set up with the Dean Desmond Pouyat, and Assistant Deans Liza Arnason and Laura Boyko.
