The current layout of the common area is not working for the majority of S6s. The TV and couches afforded to the "gamers" of the grade are taking up a third of the commons space while only being used by a tenth of the grade. This layout only adds to size constraints in the commons, making it impossible for even half of the grade to eat lunch in our own common area. During lunches and spares, the sound level also reaches extreme levels due to the people gaming on the TV, which makes the commons a difficult place to work or eat. Furthermore, the current setup blocks off access to more than a dozen lockers, making it inconvenient for students to access their personal possessions before school or at lunch.

I would like to propose the removal of the TV in our commons. The sonic pollution caused by a literally, vocal, minority in that room during the crowded times disturbs everyone. Whether studying, sitting down and having a conversation at a normal volume, or gaming; others in our commons should be treated with respect. Despite the maturity that one would expect from people of this age group, it appears some of our peers have not yet learned how to use their indoor voices.
