Jason Skilton started this petition to Utilitiy companies

All river users would like to see a change to UK legislation so we can clean up our rivers by removing the practice of whats is termed as permitted discharge. Permitted discharge should only occur during significant rain storm, which was in frequent. But due to more frequent significant rainfall across the UK utility companies are depositing more and more raw sewerage into UK rivers. Utilitiy companies should have to upgrade or replace these pumping stations to accommodate the increase in connections from developments and ensure their modelling of the foul network has an allowance for mis connected surface water connection which I'm afraid are a historical problem affecting the countries foul network. River users want this practise of permitted discharge by utility companies to stop entirely and only allow clean water to be discharged. Water is a precise resource, let's force a change in the UK.
