Utica Community School District Petition For Choice

Utica Community School District Petition For Choice
Why this petition matters

The Utica Community School District’s 100% virtual and Remote reopening plan has disrupted our children's social and academic learning abilities. It has also put an unbearable burden on the families due to increased childcare costs and parents time to teach, help and enforce distance education. In August, of 2020, the Utica Community School Board opted not to give parents a choice between virtual and Face-to-Face learning, instead, they chose a 100% virtual/remote plan for everyone. In Michigan, evidence shows there are many school districts that offer their students/parents a simple choice between face-to-face or virtual learning, and we believe there is no reason why the Utica Community Schools cannot follow suit. We, the parents of Utica Community School students, are petitioning the district to give parents a CHOICE between a full in-person, five days a week instruction, or a fully online option, for those who choose. Please sign the petition so we as parents are able to let the Utica Community School District know parents have a right to choose.
