On June 9th a proposal is being made to turn the Redwood Drive-in into a housing development. The Redwood Drive-in was built in 1948 and has since become a prominent summer outing venue for thousands of families in Utah. Many Utahns remember watching some of their favorite movies for the first time at this theatre. In addition this establishment holds swap meets on the weekends where small business owners are able to share their crafts and items which helps the community. I believe with the age, nostalgia, and community that the Redwood drive in has created in the past 72 years it has earned the right to be made a Historic Landmark. With this status it should be preserved for generations to come as a place where we can escape the ever increasing hustle of the world and step into a simpler time with our loved ones. Our community needs more places for our families to find those moments and the Redwood Drive-In is one of those rare places
