Isabella Gipson started this petition to Utah Utah education school board and

Within are education system we are taught only from one perspective. We dont know our history , or those who faught for us. I am of indeginous hertiage,  i had joined a club in my  high school that teaches mexican-american history. I realize now clubs should be about bringing people together, not teaching something that should be taught. We continually push poc narratives out the window , the more the education system does that , the more it shows that across the country poc are not party of history. Which is anything but true. If we change the narratives and show every perspective in history , we can educate everyone, because for some minority groups the history of america didn't start when european settlers arived, so why should we feel like we were second. Many chatecteristics of america have to do with a culture black people started. But we are told that everything we have was built by a white man , and not on the backs of slavery of black and indeginous people. If this petition goes through this could change the education system for the better , not only will it be more accurate,  but poc can see themselves as something thats worth reading about. On the dark side , if this petition does not go through , the education system is not doing its job to help students. And will continue to teach us a narrative that dosent belong to poc, but actively benefits another.
