Let's get more awareness on campus for what you really are saying when you say something is "retarded." People with intellectual disabilities are not synonymous with being "dumb," "stupid," or "weird." Using "retarded" to mean these things can hurt someone who can't help the position in which they have been put. If more people on campus are aware of what they are saying, maybe we can help eradicate the improper use all together.
