Tampon Tax: The Dire Need for a Federal Repeal of Feminine Hygiene Taxes

It is about time for the federal government to step up and contemplate the repeal of sales tax on necessary feminine hygiene products such as tampons and pads. A cry for complimentary feminine hygiene product dispensers in woman's public bathrooms has been a long-lasting debate, and reasonably so. As the social standards around periods heighten, the expectation for women to perfectly "conceal" all evidence of experiencing menstruation has become increasingly difficult. Tampon/pad prices increase while only a handful of states offer the purchase of these products with no sales tax attached. The need for repealed tampon tax federally is of highest concern within the female population, a group of citizens who have notably seen unfair and/or unequal treatment at the hands of the government.
