On November 8, 2021 I,  went to the Poncha Springs Post Office and there was a sign that stated package pick ups on Monday only. The office hours for the Poncha Springs Post Office is so hard to get there if you work during the day. I contacted United States Postal Service help center and asked to have the post master call me about the hour issue. I was also told by the help center to contact my local Mayor and town about wanting delivery in the zip code 81242.

I contacted Mayor Ben Scanga about the issue of how much the Town of Poncha Springs would benefit from mail deliery. I was told that the Post office has told the Town of Poncha Springs that our zip code is a P.O. box only zip code, and that the head of the region said it would never change.

I know the influx of people moving here, they are not able to get PO boxes at their local Post Office and have to pay for a PO box in either Salida, or at Shippin' things. 

I am doing this petition to make the United States Postal Service aware that there is a need for mail delivery in 81242! There has been rapid increase of People in the Town of Poncha Springs (which is a great community!) but with change of the amount of people, so should the times!
