Based on historical data from similar closings, adjusted for metropolitan size, I calculated that, if the closing goes forward, Tucson will have a $30 million loss to the community. I submitted this data to the editor of the Arizona Daily Star but they chose not to print it. The print media as always seen the USPS as a competitor for advertising dollars.

Even though I live in Phoenix, I need to support Tuscon business. If one fails, we all fail.
Also, I want to reiterate something from the petition: "Arizona has more population than Wisconsin, Iowa, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Louisiana, South Carolina, but should have fewer processing centers?"
Really DC? Get your head out of the dirt and realize that people have been moving to AZ in droves for years, we don't need a cut.

The postal service is one of the blessings we enjoy that we are in danger of losing, like drinkable tap water. This is about basic quality of life.

I work for AZ Jet Mail Services, in the data processing department and the Cherrybell plant is where we take our mail everyday. This will hurt my job because it will take longer to get our mail delivered to tucson residents which could cause our customers to mail from PHX to get it here faster and if we lose our customers then I'm out of a job. Please leave it open.

This is the post office that we do all of our mailing from. This company has been doing business with this post office for over 25 years. It is vital to our business.

I'm tired of East Coast Bureaucrates telling me how I'm supose to live, raise my family, run a business. This is more proof that they can't even understand the size of our state.

As noted by many others, closing Cherrybell will have a very negative impact on Tucson in more way than I can mention.
