Gyasi Zardes has spent several years on the United States’ Men’s Soccer Team with hardly any success whatsoever. He failed miserably at playing outside mid and now the new coach, Gregg Berhalter, has decided to move him into arguably one of the most important positions on the field, striker. He’s failing miserably at this position as well with one of the latest examples being a open shot going wide AND high from 12 yards out against Jamaica in the semifinal match of the 2019 Gold Cup. 

Gyasi Zardes is clearly unfit to be a starter on this team and does much, much more harm than good when he’s on the pitch. I believe it is time for the US Soccer coaching staff to find a better replacement for Jozy Altidore than this trash player Gyasi Zardes. Zardes has had years of opportunity to mature and grow into his role on this team and he has failed at every single turn. 

If the US soccer team is ever to be taken seriously on a global scale, we need to actively be searching for players better than the likes of Gyasi Zardes.
