Tell the USDF to reevaluate the site selection for 2022 Region 3 Dressage Championships
Each competition year hundreds of dressage riders from USDF Region 3 (AL, TN, GA, FL, SC) strive to qualify their horses for the USDF Regional Championships. Despite competitors for years airing multiple safety concerns with the arena footing at the Georgia International Horse Park, the USDF Regional Championship Committee has awarded this site the 2021 Regional Championships as well as the 2022 Regional Championships. Competitors should not have to choose between their goals of competing at Region 3 Championships and the risk of injury to their horse. As members of USDF Region 3, we ask USDF and the Regional Championship Committee to reevaluate their choice of the Georgia International Horse Park as the site for the 2022 Regional Championships based on our concern for general horse welfare. Additionally, we ask for USDF and the Regional Championship committee to consider other show management teams that submitted bids for the 2022 Regional Championships at facilities which currently have footing that is fitting for a Level 4 competition.
