USD 383's redistricting plans exclude Lake Elbo elementary school kids from attending Oliver Brown ES although these kids live among the ones who live closest to this new elementary school. A new elementary school is being built in our backyard (2.1 miles away), but the consultant proposes that we bus our kids to Bluemont ES which is 7.8 miles away from Lake Elbo. Distance/walkability was one of the top priorities of redistricting community survey results. Families of Lake Elbo are signing this petition to request the inclusion of our neighborhood in the Oliver Brown ES region.
