Anyone who grew up with the classic children's book The World of the Unknown: Ghosts will know the addictive terror it instilled. A generation of readers obsessively read and re-read it, often by torchlight, thumbing a much-loved copy until it all but fell apart, or waiting patiently for a copy to be available at their local library. Eventually it went out of print, but it wasn't forgotten by its fans. Now the readers of the '70s and '80s are grown-up (sort of) we think it's time to bring this epic children's book from Usborne back so that a new generation can enjoy the terrifying tales of Borley Rectory, Gef the mongoose and more.

"The pinnacle of scariness...these books are etched in the memories of an entire generation. I remember...sneaking them home and then actually being too petrified to read them at bedtime, waiting until the daylight hours and bright sunshine to dip into them." - Read It Daddy, children's book blogger
"Those books were the crown jewel of the every library in the eighties" - Daniel Benneworth-Gray, book designer, Creative Review columnist, blogger.
