Do you believe in giving young athletes the chance to shine?

It has just been announced that Axeon Hagens Berman, the world's finest u23 cycling team, will not be invited to this year's Amgen Tour of California. After being reclassified as one of the new events to be included in the UCI WorldTour only two Continental teams are being invited. Despite having the most exciting and arguably strongest U.S. Continental squad, Axeon has been overlooked.

Team owner and director Axel Merckx is understandably less than impressed:

'In Adrien Costa and Powless, I think we’ve got the biggest talents in stage races for the future, and not to want to have those guys, at least not to give me a chance to try to get those guys to the start, is an eye-opener.'

Last year, Neilson Powless (aged just 19!) placed 9th overall and won the Best Young Rider award. The team, all comprised of under 23 year old riders, finished 2nd overall beating the several World Tour teams including Trek - Segafredo, Cannondale, Etixx-Quick Step and Tinkoff. Every single day they animated the race making it one of the most exciting of the year to watch.

If you want Amgen Tour of California to see the error of their ways and let Axel unleash the strongest team he's ever put together on the biggest stage please sign this petition today!

It's not over till it's over.
Where there's a will there's a way.
