Jorja Simpson started this petition to Us students in Accomack County

Please take a minute to read, sign, and help out the younger generation get out of the public school discrimination against our bodies. The female students in the Accomack County are being pulled from classes, sent to in school suspension, and even sent home for our rips in our jeans, shoulders, and cropped shirts. The shoulders of young students are also a huge part of the dress code. Having a bra strap or arms shouldn’t be a distraction to anyone in a classroom setting. As season change so do our clothing and the only way to feel comfortable is with shorts, skirts, crop tops, tank tops, or rips in our jeans. Our skin needs to breath. We as a community need to come together to make a change! We are not a “distraction” in the classroom environments, we have a right to wear what we feel comfortable. Our young females are being told to cover their skin because male students and teachers can’t control themselves. The dress code is implying that the way we dress and how much skin we show is more important than our education. The students and parents are sick of this; It’s time for us to make a difference and take a stand! We all have a voice and together we will be loud enough to break free from this discrimination. Let’s stand strong and tall together to fight against the dress code and get away from the dress code. The slits in our jeans, cropped shirts, and shoulder skin are no reason to pull young students from classes to interrupt our education.
