My name is Madison Bell, I am a graduate OT student at Keuka College. I have created a petition to advocate for bill H.R.2168 and raise awareness on different media platforms.

This bill is to amend title XVIII of the social security act to expand the scope of practitioners eligible for payment for telehealth services under the Medicare program. This amendment allows for the permanent access to telehealth of OT, PT, SLP, and audiologists under Medicare which is currently only temporarily waiving the requirements due to the public health emergency of COVID-19.

Telehealth offers the opportunity to provide services to a wider variety of people, increase the quality of services, reduces patient cancellations, and ensures quality and accessible care now and after the pandemic. This also opens up a lot of opportunities for patients who may be lacking the resources to receive services and puts an ease on the financial burden.
