US Senate and House: Call to preserve family-based immigration and help reunite families.

We ask the Senate and House, as well as Texas representatives (Texas representatives, Senator Ted Cruz, Senator John Cornyn, Congressman Sam Johnson, Congressman John Carter, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressman Ted Poe, Congressman Lamar Smith, Congressman Blake Farenthold, Congressman Louie Gohmert,) to preserve family immigration categories by nullifying potential changes to family-based immigration laws and to instead focus on clearing out the family immigration backlogs that are making our communities suffer.
Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) are gearing up for the big battle over
immigration reform. Reacting to reports that family-based immigration is at risk of being dismantled with the proposed elimination of the brother/sister and adult married children family visas – an issue that disproportionately impacts AAPIs, Latinos, and women - a coalition of AAPI community groups and members are holding a press conference to denounce the attacks on immigrant families. Community leaders are calling for an end to using family members as bargaining chips and urge Congress to pass an immigration reform bill that reunites immigrant families for the long term social and economic vitality of our nation.
Please support our petition to denounce attacks on immigrant families and to call on Congress to preserve family reunification in immigration reform.
