Please help us create regulations for genetic engineering on embryos!
Genetic engineering is a new advancement in science that will benefit the human race if used effectively and in the right ways. Genetic engineering is the changing or cloning of genes in order to create a new trait in an organism. Currently, there is a genome editing tool called the CRISPR Cas9 which is being used on embryos without regulation on how far the testing and editing of said embryos can go. The reason this needs to be regulated is that eventually if this goes too far people will start making designer babies, resulting in the entire human population looking the same and having identical traits because all parents will want their children to have the "ideal" traits. Another issue with designer babies is the kids who haven't been genetically engineered like the others will be seen as less or obsolete.
Please sign this petition if you want to help the journey to regulations on the editing of human embryos!
