I am an adoptive mother of a little girl from Ethiopia. I can't imagine going through this. I pray that they have a safe return to the US and that God covers them during this time!

Be aware, your "letter of the law" treatment of this poor young girl have may have emotionally damaged her - perhaps for the rest of her life. It has certainly done an injustice to her family. What an awful introduction to "the Land of the Free."

This speaks loudly to advocate a case by case assesment of future situations.

Please be sure this family all receive the best counseling as soon as they are together.

Be human - it's your legacy.

It's time we show humanity...let's start with this one small, yet huge, adoption. Bring Eden home to her family.

She will not be living here illegally and they are trying to do what's best for her as well as follow the rules. Please allow her to come here so the process can be finalized and make a difference in their lives. Also to separate her from what she considers her parents would not be advised psychologically. In the US the states' department of social services they do everything they can to keep families together for the well being of the child and family. Why can't the federal government do the same?

It takes a poor excuse for a human to keep a child separate from their family! My own daughter's name is Eden and I could not imagine being separated from her at all!

In this case, it seems the intent of the law and the letter of the law are out of synch. It's time to for USCIS to apply some judgement and find a reasonable way around the snags this family is encountering. This is a humanitarian issue. This family has done nothing wrong. Show some compassion, and find a way around the roadblocks.

This is a child who has parents that love her. She needs to be with them immediately.Children are adopted everyday from all around the world-why is this an exception?
