Jon Conley started this petition to US Geological Survey and

The Trump administration is proposing that "worst case scenarios" not be automatically included in the National Climate Assessment.  This is a dangerous, politically motivated move towards misinformation and away from science.  The "worst case scenarios" (and projections out to the end of the century) are very important for planning both from the scientific perspective as well as the economic, and as the vast majority of scientific studies have found, global climate disruption/change is a real and ominous threat to humanity, and should therefore not be politicized or ignored.

The National Climate Assessment predictions have a track record of being accurate (see https://www.universetoday.com/142324/nasas-long-term-climate-predictions-have-proven-to-be-very-accurate-within-1-20th-of-a-degree-celsius/ ) and the consequences of ignoring them become more dire the longer we do nothing about them, so why should we all of a sudden stop including this vital information in the report?

Please join me in demanding that the Trump administration cease and desist with this anti-science proposal, and demanding that legislators work towards codifying into law that the assessment must continue to include worst case scenarios and long term predictions.
