Investigate the massive terminations of African American Teachers and the excessive expulsions of African American Students.

From Massachusetts to Michigan, From New York to New Orleans, thousands of Black teachers are being “structured out” of the Education field. The Chicago Public Schools is no exemption. Over 6,000 Black teachers lost their jobs in the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) between 2010 and 2013. In 3 years can 6,000 educators become incompetent?  Would 6,000 educators decide to retire all at once? Since the year 2,000 over 10,000 have lost their jobs.  The same is true foralmost every large urban major school district highly popiulated by African Americans. Cities like new Orleans, Detroit , Philadelphia and many more have been effected.

Nationwide over 100,000 African American Teachers have been terminated.  Massive termination of African-American teachers since the late 1990s needs an explanation. We need the following investigations:

     Massive termination of African-American teachers needs an explanation;

        We need to see an investigation how on  E3s or Corrective Action in other states  are executed.

       We need to see an investigation on possible repercussion on African American teachers who advocate against the expulsions and suspension of Black students;

     We need to see an investigation on pseudo evaluation performed on teachers who care a lot to get involved and help students get the resources the need;

        We are demanding that government looking into practices that CPS attorneys do that are not in compliance with the law, i.e bring  unsubstantiated charges against teachers;

         Lastly, we are asking why thousands of teachers who pay Union dues over several decades are unable to get due process by our collective bargaining.  In other words, the unions have not protected us.

The decimation of Black teachers for the last 50 years since Brown vs. Nichols decision is an issue that had remained silent for too long. We need an investigation done and the overturn of all “ suspicious”  dismissals of tenured teachers and long term staff that occurred in the past fifteen years.
