California is the first state to be addressing this issue but nothing has been officially done to fix this injustice. Same products or nearly identical products are being priced differently when marketed towards different genders and this is an injustice. The price discrimination shouldn't be happening because it is unfair to both genders. 42% of the time, women are being charged more than men for essentially the same products as men and for men, it is 18%.

The Pink Tax Act Repeal should be passed because it will prohibit companies from committing these price discrimination because of the consumers' gender. The Pink Tax Repeal Act was first introduced by Jackie Speier on July 8th, 2016, and died in the previous Congress. On April 10th, 2019, Speier again reintroduced another bill with the same name, the Pink Tax Repeal Act, but was not also enacted.
