Allow students to park in faculty/staff designated lots after hours

Per the parking violations and penalties section stipulated by the University, students are no longer permitted to park in any designated staff lots after hours. Previously, students have been allowed to park in these lots after hours, as it is a safe and convenient option to access academic buildings and services later in the evening. URI has since amended this policy, while failing to revise bus routes and service hours to accommodate the need for URI students to travel on campus at night. Under this new policy, students would unnecessarily have to walk back to commuter parking lots on the outskirts of campus in the evening hours if they have night classes, study at the library, or otherwise utilize URI services in the evening hours. Failure to change the RIPTA schedule to meet the new needs of students to have a safe ride back to these commuter lots under this revised banned faculty parking lots policy neglects student safety. For the safety of URI students, allow us to park in staff lots after hours.
