Police brutality needs to end. Police need to be educated about how to best assist the mentally or emotionally impaired when they are in crisis, when they are most vulnerable, and most in need of help, not a violent end at the hands of public servants.

As a young man I went to war at the insistence of the white power structure. As a lawyer I spent a significant amount of time and money fighting against the local white power structure on behalf of those who had been abused by “cops”. In so doing I learned that the most effective tools to use to eliminate such atrocities are being politically involved and suing such bad actors in federal court each and every time that they commit these crimes.

Mental Health is a disease not a threat and this story proves that our system lacks education in the psychological and social affects of people and therefor cannot protect and serve effectively and proficiently. Who is going to take responsibility for the force that took this individuals life?? Because he needed help not a death sentence.
