Urgent nomination for State Heritage Listing for Newcastle Ocean Baths

Our 110-year-old iconic Newcastle Ocean Baths is on a Crown Reserve gazetted in 1910 for the purpose of bathing and recreation. It warrants the urgent protection offered by State Heritage Listing.

Newcastle Ocean Baths is NOT YET LISTED on the State Heritage Register. On 18 Dec 2021 the Newcastle Herald reported the lord mayor, Cr. Nelmes as stating the council would submit a nomination. To date no nomination has been made.

URGENT ACTION IS REQUIRED by the City of Newcastle Council to make the nomination a priority.
