On Thursday July 27th, The Miami City Commissioners will vote on whether to vacate a city owned pubic alley (348 NE 20 Terrace) and give it to a real estate developer (Item PZ.1 1915 on page 29 of the AGENDA: http://miamifl.iqm2.com/Citizens/FileOpen.aspx?Type=14&ID=1618&Inline=True
The alley on 20th Terrace between Biscayne Blvd and North Bayshore Drive is used by the neighborhood as a green space, and has been taken care of, maintained, & monitored by the neighboring residents for over 12 years. Despite what is alleged in the application by the developer for vacation and closure, it is neither vacant, undesirable, nor an unattractive nuisance. This Public Alley / Green Space is being openly enjoyed by Edgewater Neighbors.
Please urge the Miami Commission to NOT to give away city owned land to a developer, as this will hurt the quality of life for many people in the Biscayne neighborhood of Omni/Edgewater.
