This petition is urging the sponsors of the World Cup including Coca Cola, Adidas, and Visa to stand in solidarity with Iranian people and use the pitch-side advertising boards to show support and raise awareness during the three games that Iran will play at the World Cup, facing United States, England, and Wales.

We believe Iran’s brave women and men deserve the world’s support. The demonstrations of solidarity with people whose courageousness is an example for the rest of the world is an obligation to all of us.

Despite the efforts of Iranian activists, football fans, and sports personalities that have called on FIFA to kick Iran out of the World Cup in Qatar and suspend the Iranian football federation because of the Islamic Republic's brutality and human rights violations during recent anti-government protests, FIFA is turning a blind eye on this matter.

Recently, FIFA President Gianni Infantino wrote to the World Cup teams asking them to concentrate on soccer in Qatar and not let ideological “battles” be dragged into football fields. While FIFA urges teams to avoid political battles, earlier this year Russia was rightfully banned from international competition but Iran's brutality and belligerence towards its own people, banning women from entering stadiums, and involvement in Ukraine have not been enough to merit FIFA’s clear position on Iran.

Iran is violently trying to suppress an uprising led by women who are pursuing human rights in daily protests around the country. The demonstrations have followed the murder of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman in the custody of the notorious “morality police” for the alleged crime of not properly covering her hair. Iranian security forces have killed at least 326 people since nationwide protests erupted and authorities have also charged thousands of people for their alleged involvement in the protests. Many face “security-related charges” and are at risk of being executed.

In its foreign policy, Iran is supplying Russia with self-detonating drones, the main purpose of which is to terrorize civilians in Ukraine and destroy critical infrastructure such as electrical and water supplies. Iran’s involvement in Ukraine has seen several world leaders express concern and condemnation for their actions.

World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events in the world and with millions of viewers around the world, the sponsors of this event can raise awareness about the human rights crisis in Iran ensuring the voices and protests are being heard.
