Bill Khokhar started this petition to Rt Honourable Teresa May MP (Prime Minister of the UK)

We are killing our oceans and marine life!

There are an estimated 51 trillion pieces of plastic in our oceans!

The threat of plastic pollution in our rivers and oceans is as grave a threat to humanity as the threat of CFC’s was to the ozone layer; we need to take immediate action to fund the industrialisation of the global clean up.

Who should pay?

Multinational conglomerates who have made trillions from plastic products?

Should governments pay towards the clean up?

Should we all pay towards the cleanup?

Can we afford to ignore this?

Micro-plastic has entered the food chain, the consequences of which we have yet to fully comprehend, if we do nothing what is the ultimate cost for us all?

The relentless deluge is increasing; only 11% of plastic is recycled globally!

The polar icecaps have some of the highest concentrations of micro-plastics, and it is heading further up the food chain.

This is affecting us now and will only increase if we fail to act!

There needs to be a concerted effort to clean up our streams, rivers coastlines and oceans before its too late; and our government should lead!
