This is a barbaric, cruel and inhumane practice that is outdated and should be stopped.

Chickens are loving creatures, stop torturing them they should get in return for love.

This cruelty is unacceptable. Especially when alternatives exist.

This is a cruel, barbaric act not required by any Jewish law or commentary and is, in fact, antithetical to the Jewish mandate to do no unnecessary harm to any animal. The people who still engage in this atavistic act must be educated to its sinful nature and the horrors it holds for the chickens, and the much more "Jewish" act of giving money and food to the poor in atonement for any sins they have committed.

This practice is an abomination not required by Jewish law ,and is merely a superstitious custom that promotes cruelty.

I'm against animal cruelty of all kinds, but especially when it is symbolic and particularly when religious leaders have deemed other options (using coins) acceptable, there seems no reason to continue the practice using live chickens.
