In the past human rights opponents have urged some members in U.S. Congress to enact a 'Federal Marriage Amendment' to the United States Constitution to ban civil marriage for same-sex couples throughout America once and for all. That is NOT acceptable and it goes AGAINST every State's right to legally recognize and validate same-sex marriages. Remember when the State of California banned same-sex marriage in the State's Constitution? The Supreme Court of California said it was constitutional. It it is time to start persuading U.S. Congress and the President to not accept such a horrible fate for LGBT civil rights.

The State of California has planned a Federal Court legal challenge to 'Proposition 8' of the 2008 Election. Who knows what will be in the minds of some of our fellow U.S. Congress members when the court case titled Perry v. Schwarzenneger becomes a success, as well as the legislative repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act from Federal law. A great backlash where they amend the U.S. Constitution to ban same-sex relationships can happen.
