Urbanium - Stop the eviction threat of the Vestbredden collective in Oslo
This petition had 246 supporters
This collective was established as a result of squatting the abandoned building by a group of housing activists back in 1999. It was first owned by the norwegian state, then the Oslo municipality and then it was sold to private megadeveloper Urbanium first half of 2016.
The house would not have been in a livable condition if it not were for the squatters initiative and determination to make it as it is today were approx 20 people live.
Since the municipal regulation plan for the area is SPECIAL, regarding LA21-principles, recycling and real inhabitant participation, many don't trust big corporate's "genuine interest" for their newest investment and the collective have been "offered" to go into negotiations or piss off.
That is not going to happen while a court appeal for eviction by police action is upheld. The regulation plan was born by public engagement and will not dwindle away simply because of some rich men's credibility in the bank.
Demand that Urbanium pull the court order to prove their good intentions for trustworthy negotiations!
