Newquay Central is the second worst recycling area in Cornwall, the lack of central recycling and street recycling facilities is part of this problem. Local voluntary groups work at promoting the reduction of plastics use in Newquay. More can be done by the local authorities to increase the recycling of plastics and other recyclable waste by provision of additional recycling bins for the general public in the town centre and convenient facilities for residents with limited storage for waste.
