Dear Students and IAS Aspirants Community,
Currently the Age limit for UPSC Civil Services Examination is 32 for General Category and Applicable Reservations for Other Categories accordingly. But UPSC and Union Government of India are considering a Proposal to Reduce the Age limit. We strongly believe that the Posts included in Civil Services are of techno-managerial nature and requires more maturity and experience which would be very useful in service. Hence reduction in age limit puts experienced candidates at disadvantage [Candidates with work experience] and hinders them in adding their experience Value to Public service. A simple example could be like an IAS Officer will be posted as a Managing Director of a Corporation which is the top post of the Organization which would require experience for managing more effectively. Hence we urge the Government to either Increase the age limit to 40 or at-least maintain the same. One more point to be noted in State Civil Services Officers are becoming IAS only after 12 years of service and when we are able to train them for IAS at that age why not we are able to train people of lesser age comparatively.
