Jessica Henderson started this petition to Upper Perkiomen School District and

The UPSD will not allow parents to watch their children play sports. In fact, we aren’t even allowed to leave our vehicles while dropping our children off to practices and games. This to me is completely unacceptable for so many reasons. My first problem with this is the obvious, kids do better in life when their parents support them. It’s just a fact. Children perform better in school, social settings and when they become adults when they have parents who have shown support throughout their lives. My second concern is safety. If our child is hurt during a game and the parents aren’t there to make decisions, are we okay letting someone else make those important decisions for us? I’m not. And, who knows how long it’ll take before receiving a phone call and not to mention the drive to get to your child. These are vital moments that could mean someone else is making life saving decisions on your behalf.
The third issue for me is, our children grow up so fast. We won’t be able to capture video/photos, see their expressions when they score a point or cheer them up if their team didn’t win. We won’t ever have these moment again.
Governor Wolf has stated that pro sports and school sports can have up to 250 fans at outdoor games and gave guidelines for schools to follow. So, why isn’t UPSD opening the games to parents? The least our school district can do is give the immediate families access to watch their Children play.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who is upset about being banned from watching my child play this fall. If you agree and want to watch your child’s sports game, please sign this petition.

United we stand, divided we fall.
