Keep Fancyburg Park as the amazing community neighborhood park and say to "no" to turning it into a "baseball hub"
Kids ride their bikes on the trails, play baseball, play soccer, sled on the little hill, play in the “woods”, fly kites, and just act silly in the fields. We love Fancyburg! I love spring when baseball games start and the park comes out of hibernation. I love fall when there are soccer games and flag football practices all over. I love summer when kids ride bikes freely around the trails. And I love winter when families make snowman and outdoor enthusiast cross country ski the trails.
Creating 6 baseball diamonds would take away so much of Fancyburg’s charm. It would take a park that is used by so many families in so many ways and cater to Bearcub baseball families. My kids play Bearcub baseball and we love Bearcub baseball but I love Fancyburg Park more. Adding four more diamonds would cripple this amazing park.
There are trees planted by the neighbors remembering loved ones who have passed away. There are benches honoring special people. There is a trail that was once used by Native Americans to get to the Scioto River that winds through the park which school groups use and study. So many things that make this park so special will be lost if this plan goes through.
Please keep Fancyburg Park the way it is so that the whole Upper Arlington community can use and enjoy it.
