Uphold the South Carolina statue: NO grass in the roadway
Why this petition matters

I have contacted the Governor's office and been told there are laws on the books. That prohibiting people from mowing their grass and shooting the clippings into the road. If they are on the books no one upholds these laws. Grass clippings are not only dangerous to motorcycles. These clippings make road surfaces slick. Many do not know clippings are dangerous to cars also. We have lost traction on our neighborhood because someone mowed and left grass covering the road surface. Being a motorcycle rider myself and many friends and family members. I myself do not want to loose anyone to someone else's lack of knowledge.
South Carolina statute Section 57-7-20 states that you can’t “place, throw, or deposit upon any highway any glass bottle, glass, nails, tacks, wire, cans, or any other substance or object likely to injure any person, animal, or vehicle upon the highway. “
When we win it will encourage the state and local law enforcement to uphold the law and keep accidents from happening.
