Upgrade of Boomerang Beach Netball Facilities

The parents and community of Pacific Palms Netball Club and Pacific Palms surrounds would like to request a minor upgrade of the original netball facilities off Karnang Dr, Boomerang Beach NSW 2428.
These facilities were originally developed from a community funding initiative, approximately 20 years ago. The facilities are currently in a poor state with many broken, sharp and rusty nets, cracks/holes in the playing surface, limited and at times confusing line markings and with no working gate to keep out balls and or persons.
These courts are used throughout the year by the community but extensively throughout the netball season/s by the many pacific palms netball teams. This year alone we saw a large intake of new members in the junior teams, with next year predicted to be just as large. Supporting the growth of local sporting community groups has an added benefit to the local community and their families.
We propose the courts be upgraded with new security fencing(replacing broken and sharp edges), a new gate, the courts to be re-surfaced and new line markings.
The Pacific Palms as a whole has been experiencing a large growth period extending over the last five years. Following the development of many new houses in Karnang Drive and the surrounding suburbs there is an influx of children accessing these courts who could be placing themselves in physical danger by crawling through broken holes or tripping on the many hazards of broken surfaces. We believe it is a minimal upgrade for a maximum return to this area.
